The Black Feather: A Telling Circumstance

The Black Feather: A Telling Circumstance

The Black Feather will take you on a riveting journey through different dimensions and into the purest essence of the self. Written by Genora Willcox Powell, this is a fascinating tale of lives that have become inextricably entwined.

The story unravels in the Pacific Northwest and Ireland. Ms. Weaver has been summoned to help Odin, a young 19-year-old man on a quest towards self-discovery. His young love, Becke, is exposed to the harsh realities of life. Together they embark on a journey through the inter-dimensional mind and body.

I am very impressed by the rich complexity of styles, voices, mythological elements mixed in with ordinary and quotidian realities. The different worlds all bleed back and forth and create a strange sense that the ordinary is far more strange and mystical than one ever thought; and also that the mystical is all about us in ordinary voices and daily actions. I am also impressed with the mixing of religious elements from all over the world and different time frames. There is  deep dreamy quality to it all.
